Leap & Hop Bali

Forget about spending all your time at the beach in Bali!
There is a lot more to the Island of a Thousand Temples.  Leap & Hop Bali will engage the children in places you never thought would be possible.  Think temples and old palaces.  Of course, they will also learn about Bali's history, its own version of Hinduism and the rituals performed on the island, as well as food and architecture.   The kids will be invited to play I-Spy in Klungkung, to distinguish and draw the different coat of arms of each Balinese regency and to play food critic among other fun activities.
For parents, Leap & Hop provides an ideal way to stick to a grown-up itinerary with a focus on cultural sites while sharing an unforgettable experience with their children. They might also learn a thing or two along the way.

Well-researched and engaging

As an Indonesian teacher in Australia, I thoroughly recommend this book to families going on holiday in Bali. The activities are engaging and the pages for the reader to record their own adventures provide a great introduction to journal keeping for pre-teens without being too childish for young teenagers to enjoy. The information throughout is well-researched and thoughtful - adults will get just as much out of it as the kids and it will definitely enhance your appreciation of the places you visit and the people you meet.

Thanks for your review. We appreciate your feedback and love hearing from a reader who is also a teacher and a writer :)

The best way to discover Bali with your kids

I bough this book before our trip to Bali and my daughters aged 8 and 5 years loved it. I give them a few days before leaving so they can prepare the trip and they keep reading, writing and drawing in their books during the holidays. This a great travel activity book as they learnt plenty of things about the culture, the religion and the country while having fun.

Fabulous, artistic, cultural book on Bali for tweens

Leap and Hop Bali is such a great resource for a family trip to Bali! Was there over Christmas with my 12 year old daughter and 10 year old niece plus two little ones who don't read and one teenager. This beautifully illustrated book brings the island and its food, religion, and culture to life for kids in a very interactive way. The kids learned things they would never have learned and took pride in sharing the knowledge! Moreover the book will be a keepsake (you get out of it what you put into it-the whole trip can be recorded in original ways). We had a better day trip to Ubud because we had this with us. Best for ages 8-13 I would say, and lightweight and easy to carry. Bravo! I also have the ones for Sri Lanka and India. Great for Asia based expat families and a good gift.
